What We Believe . . .
.
. . about God
He is the Creator and ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three
persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (commonly referred to as the Trinity). The three are co-equal, yet one God.
. . . about Jesus Christ
He is the Son of God and co-equal with the Father. Jesus came down to earth as a man and lived a sinless life, offering
Himself as the perfect sacrifice and atonement for the sins of the world. He died on the cross, rose from the dead and is
now seated on the right hand of God. One day, he will return again and establish himself as the King of Kings and Lord of
Lords.
. . . about the Holy Spirit
He is the spirit of God and co-equal with the Father. Also known as the paraclete, he is the helper and ever present
spirit of the Father in the world today. He lives in the hearts of believeing men and women and provides the necessary power
for living, understanding spiritual truths and guidance. The Holy Spirit also convicts people of their sin and their need
for God.
. . . about the Bible
The Bible is God's inspired Word to us. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the
Holy Spirit and is infallible and completely trustworthy as the Word of God. It is the source of guidance and faith for our
daily lives.
. . . about people
Men and women are made in the image of God and are the supreme object of God's creation. Although they were created
blameless, all were marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God, called 'sin.' Sin separates people from a relationship
with God.
. . . about salvation
Salvation is available to everyone if they accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. No one can earn
their way to heaven. Rather, it is a free gift from God that requires faith in Christ.
. . . about eternity
People
were created to exist forever. While our physical bodies may die, our spiritual souls will remain forever. People who accept
God in their earthly lives will be in His presence forever - heaven. Those who did not put their faith in Christ will be forever
separated from God - hell.
